Abstract: For studying the change of surface vegetation index caused by mining, taking some mining influenced place of shanxi in 2008 as the object.Selecting eight Landsat TM satellite remote sensing data before and after 2008, through geometric correction, radiation, atmospheric correction and band operation, extract the average NDVI of the mining subsidence range. Establish a curve of NDVI value changing with time, in order to study the law of vegetation index changing within the scope of mining influence area before and after mining. The results show that regional vegetation change is mainly influenced by rainfall conditions before mining, and related to the regional vegetation types; Mining area vegetation change is mainly affected by mining lagging in the process of mining; After mining surface formed subsidence area, generate subsidence basin, cracks, steps, and regional vegetation index decreased.
